Instinktivprinzip
Am Anfang des Bodybuilding-Trainings, solange Sie noch die Grundübungen lernen und sich
im wesentlichen darum bemühen, eine kräftige Muskulatur aufzubauen, halten Sie sich am
besten an ein vorgegebenes Programm. Doch nach einer gewissen Zeit werden sie bessere
Fortschritte erzielen, wenn Sie Erkenntnisse darüber sammeln, wie der Körper auf das
Training anspricht, und Ihr Programm entsprechend variieren. Ich selbst trainierte in den
ersten Jahren meist nach einem festen Schema, immer auf die gleiche Weise. Später lernte
ich dann von Dave Draper, daß man auch anders an die Sache herangehen kann. Dave
wußte zwar, wenn er ins Studio kam, welche Körperpartien er trainieren und welche Übungen
er ausführen würde, aber je nachdem, wie er sich an einem bestimmten Tag gerade fühlte,
veränderte er zum Beispiel die Reihenfolge dieser Übungen. Wenn er im Rückentraining
normalerweise erst Klimmzüge mit engem Griff machte, beschloß er zuweilen, etwa mit
Rudern vorgebeugt anzufangen und mit den Klimmzügen aufzuhören. Er hatte gelernt, sich im
Training von seinem Instinkt leiten zu lassen. Manchmal ließ er sein normales Programm auch
ganz fallen und machte etwas völlig anderes: 15 Sätze Bankdrücken zum Beispiel, weniger
Sätze mit sehr schwerem Gewicht oder viele mit hohem Tempo. Ich habe von Dave gelernt,
daß der Körper seine eigenen Rhythmen hat, daß er nicht jeden Tag gleich ist und daß man
mit zunehmenden Fortschritten im
